We are hosting a Christmas Toy Store to assist families in the Idlewild area who are part of the UrbanPromise Program. We'll collect new, unopened, unwrapped gifts and gift cards and set up a store with discounted prices where parents can shop for their children.
We'll collect new, unwrapped gifts and gift cards with the original price marked on them from November 16-December 1. Then, on December 6, we'll serve over 60 families at the Christmas Toy Store. Mark your calendars and keep an eye open for the chance to volunteer at the store.
How it works:
Beginning November 9/10, pick up a tag from the board at your campus with a child's age and gender.
Check out the Gift List for suggestions of what to buy.
Return new, unwrapped gifts (including gift cards) with the original price marked on them from November 16 through December 1.
Give online to the Christmas Toy Store fund by December 1.
Proceeds from the Christmas Toy Store will go to UrbanPromise CLT.
We have opportunities for volunteers before the event and on December 6.
Volunteer to price gifts on November 24 or December 1 at the SouthPark campus after the 10:30 am service. (Families welcome, including kids under age 15)
Volunteer to set up the store on Friday morning, December 6, from 9:00 am to Noon. (Families welcome, including kids under age 15)
Volunteer to help run the store on Friday evening, December 6, between 4:15 pm and 9:00 pm. (Adults and families with kids ages 15 and older can volunteer)
Pick up a tag at your campus beginning November 9/10 and bring a gift between November 16 and December 1. You can also volunteer to price gifts on November 24 and December 1 or volunteer to set up or run the store on December 6.
