Volunteer with New City ESL

Are you interested in getting involved in our English as a Second Language (ESL) program in 2025?

Learn more about how you can serve with us.

Teach/Tutor (Mondays or Wednesdays)

If you're interested in working with English Language Learners, consider joining our team of teachers/tutors. We work together to provide weekly interactive, engaging English lessons for our adult students while also building intentional relationships throughout the term.

The next term begins:

• Monday, January 13, 7:00–8:30 pm (volunteers arrive at 6:45 pm)
• Wednesday, January 15, 9:30–11:00 am (volunteers arrive at 9:15 am)

No prior ESL experience is required.

Provide childcare (Mondays)

While our Monday evening class meets, the adult students' children receive intentional childcare—including free play, crafts, reading, games, etc.—from New City volunteers. If you're interested in helping make this a fun and meaningful time for the kids, we welcome you to serve a couple of Monday evenings or on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
